Great news for Hammonds Plains-Lucasville!

Our community is receiving $20,000 through the Feeding Communities Fund to strengthen local food security and help ensure more residents have access to safe, nutritious food close to home.

This funding will support two incredible organizations that are already making a real difference every day:
• Emmanuel Baptist Church will receive $10,000 for its Heritage Harvest Food Boxes program
• Upper Hammonds Plains Community Development Association will receive $10,000 to enhance food access for residents

This is part of a $5.3 million investment across Nova Scotia, supporting 315 non-profits and charities, including those serving rural and Mi’kmaw communities.

By reinvesting proceeds from U.S. alcohol sales back into our communities, this initiative is helping meet real needs where it matters most.

These organizations continue to show what community care looks like in action. Proud to support their work and grateful for everything they do to lift up our neighbours.
