What a wonderful afternoon at the @Lucasville United Baptist Church on Saturday for the launch of The History of Lucasville (1827–1970).
Congratulations to Lucasville Greenway Society co-chairs Shawna Stanhope and Cynthia Lucas, and to the entire LGS team, for bringing this important piece of our community’s history to life. It was great to meet with researcher and co-author Emily Hillman, who was on hand to sign copies.
Good to see strong turnout from the community and fellow officials, Minister Twila Grosse – MLA for Preston, Jean St-Amand, Councillor, HRM District 16, and Billy Gillis – HRM Councillor District 15 – Lower Sackville/Beaver Bank.
This book is a legacy project in the truest sense, community descendants working together to document and share the story of Lucasville with future generations. Copies are now available online through Amazon, Google Books, Strand Books, Indigo, and Friesen Press.
Thank you to the LGS team for all the work that went into this.
