Today, we had the honour of welcoming Persian Gulf War veterans to the Nova Scotia Legislature as we marked the 35th anniversary of the end of the Gulf War. Over 4,000 Canadians served in the Persian Gulf region in 1990-91, and I’m grateful for their bravery and sacrifice. This conflict marked a significant milestone for Canadian women in combat roles. Thank you to all veterans and their families for your service.

A commemorative event is happening this weekend in Halifax – check out the details here: https://www.canada.ca/en/veterans-affairs-canada/news/2026/02/government-of-canada-to-host-national-ceremony-commemorating-the-35th-anniversary-of-operation-friction-and-the-end-of-the-gulf-war.html
