Cape Breton University is now officially home to its own Medical Campus.

Thanks to a partnership with Dalhousie’s Faculty of Medicine, this brand-new medical sciences building is officially up and running. The very first cohort of students started their journey last August, which is good news for the future of healthcare in our province.

This new campus will graduate up to 30 new family doctors each year. Since these students come from Nova Scotia, they have committed to staying and practicing here after graduation.

Plus, this provincial investment does more than just train students. It expands local care right away through an upgraded Nancy Dingwall Health and Counselling Centre and a brand-new health home. This means residents get better access to primary care today, while the next generation of doctors gets top-tier, hands-on clinical training right here at home.
