Hello,
We are currently responding to an equipment failure at the Lakeside Substation impacting approximately 42,000 customers. We know this is affecting many residents and businesses in your communities.
This outage is not load-related, there was a fire at the substation. Halifax Fire is currently on site managing the situation on site with our crews who are also assessing the damage and preparing for restoration as soon as it is safe to do so.
The situation remains active but think that we can restore power within the next couple of hours. That estimate could change as crews continue their assessment. We will keep you updated if anything changes significantly.
We appreciate your patience as emergency responders and our crews work through this incident safely.
