Lucasville Community Association receives $10,000 for seniors program

LCA $10,000 funding

I’m pleased to share that Lucasville Community Association is receiving $10,000 through the Houston Government’s Age-Friendly Communities Fund to support its Cooking for Seniors program!

These monthly intergenerational meals provide nutritious dinners at no cost to seniors, helping reduce social isolation, improve food security, and bring people together. It’s a wonderful example of how local organizations strengthen our communities and help seniors stay healthy, active, and connected.

Lucasville Community Association does fantastic work, and I’m proud to have helped secure funding to support this important programming. Thank you to the volunteers and everyone involved in creating welcoming opportunities for seniors and neighbours to connect.

Across Nova Scotia, 44 organizations are receiving more than $389,000 through this round of funding to support age-friendly initiatives.

Want to apply for funding for your own community initiative? Applications for the next round of the Age-Friendly Communities Fund are now open and close November 19.
