Borrow a Radon Detector

🏠 Monitor Your Home’s Air Quality

Radon is a naturally occurring gas that can build up indoors and increase the risk of lung cancer. Through my office, residents of Hammonds Plains–Lucasville can borrow a digital radon detector for free to test their home.

A radon detector is a device that measures the level of radon gas in your home or building. Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that can seep into indoor spaces through cracks in foundations and soil. It is odorless, colorless, and tasteless, making it impossible to detect without proper equipment. Long-term exposure to high radon levels is a serious health risk and is the second leading cause of lung cancer in Canada. Borrowing a radon detector allows residents to test their homes easily and at no cost, helping ensure their living environment is safe and healthy.

âś… How It Works

  1. Request the Detector using the form below.

  2. Pick it up from my constituency office at a scheduled time.

  3. Use it in your home for 2–4 weeks (instructions included).

  4. Return it so others can test their homes too.
