Funding Available for Emergency Response Equipment
Nova Scotia’s Emergency Services Provider Fund is now accepting applications for its Regional Funding Stream, providing financial support to emergency service organizations working together to strengthen preparedness and response across our communities.
The current regional funding intake is open from September 1 to October 31, 2026.
The program can provide up to 90% of eligible project costs, to a maximum of $200,000 for regional projects.
Eligible organizations include:
• Fire departments
• Ground search and rescue organizations
• HAZMAT organizations
• Other eligible first responder organizations
Regional funding can support projects such as shared emergency response equipment, specialized vehicles and trailers, regional training facilities, drones, rescue equipment, mobile command units, UTVs and ATVs for wildland and search-and-rescue missions, fire-smart initiatives, regional training programs, and mental health resiliency programs.
Organizations can only receive ESPF funding once every two years, so if your organization is eligible and has a regional project in mind, this is an opportunity worth exploring.
The fund also has an Individual Organization Funding Stream, which can provide up to $30,000 for eligible equipment such as PPE, SCBA, communications equipment, firefighting and rescue equipment, water supply and suppression equipment, HAZMAT equipment, and emergency power.
