The Property Tax Rebate for Seniors Program opens for applications on July 1, 2025.
This program, administered by Service Nova Scotia, helps low-income seniors with the cost of municipal residential property taxes. Eligible homeowners may receive 50% of the property taxes paid last year, up to a maximum rebate of $800.
Please note: Applicants will need to provide a 2025 tax bill and receipt (or municipal tax sheet) in the applicant’s name as part of the application process.

Seniors who received the rebate last year will automatically be mailed an application to reapply.
