Celebrating aging well during Nova Scotia Seniors Week

Seniors Week is being celebrated across Nova Scotia from October 2-9, 2026, a time to recognize the contributions of older Nova Scotians and celebrate the many ways people can stay healthy, connected and engaged as they age.

This year’s theme is Celebrating Aging Well, with resources and activities available throughout the province.

The Department of Seniors and Long-Term Care is hosting free online sessions covering practical topics, including:

• HealthyNS health and wellness supports
• The Canadian Dental Care Plan
• Healthy aging and frailty prevention
• Wills and probate in Nova Scotia
• Fraud and scam prevention
• Fraud Bingo
• CPP, OAS, GIS and other programs for seniors

Several sessions are taking place this week, including sessions today, October 5, and continuing through October 7.
