I was pleased to attend the Cobequid Community Health Board Wellness Funds Awards Night alongside @damian_stoilov and @mlatimouthit to celebrate the incredible work happening in our communities.
This year, more than $42,000 was awarded to 17 community organizations supporting a wide range of local initiatives, from youth leadership, mental health and social connection to seniors’ wellness, gardening, physical activity, cultural programming and community engagement.
I also had the opportunity to tour the gardens and see a newly developed garden space made possible through support from the Wellness Fund. It was wonderful to see how community investment can create welcoming spaces where people can connect, stay active and improve their well-being.
I’m grateful to the Cobequid Community Health Board and all the organizations, volunteers and community members who work hard to make these programs possible. These initiatives are a great reminder that building healthier communities goes beyond health care – it’s also about connection, inclusion and creating opportunities for everyone to thrive.
Congratulations to all 17 recipients, and thank you for the positive difference you’re making in our communities!
