I spent the evening at HRM’s open house at the Upper Hammonds Plains Community Centre on the proposed community connector roads.
Staff are looking for feedback on two potential connections:
• Westwood Hills to Upper Hammonds Plains
• Westwood Hills to Highland Park North
There was a steady crowd all night, I had a lot of good conversations with neighbours, and the feedback board filled up with sticky notes. Thank you to the HRM staff who took the time to walk residents through the options.
Better road connections and emergency access for our communities have been a priority for a long time. What residents say now goes into the staff report to Regional Council early next year, so please take a few minutes to weigh in.
If you missed tonight:
• Open House #2: Thursday, October 15, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., Tantallon Public Library, 3646 Hammonds Plains Rd
• Online survey open until October 23: https://engagehalifax.ca/uhp-ut-connector-roads
It’s a drop-in format with no presentation, so come by whenever works for you.
