I want to congratulate Melanie Swinamer of @medicineshoppetantallon on being named the 2026 Pharmacist of the Year by the @pharmacyns_ at their Awards Gala on October 3.
Melanie’s dedication to her patients, her profession, and our community is truly deserving of this recognition. During the Tantallon wildfires, she continued supporting her patients and staff through an incredibly difficult time, including while her pharmacy was closed and members of her team were evacuated.
She has also made a lasting impact by mentoring and inspiring the next generation of pharmacists, including students at Dalhousie, while continuing to advance conversations around women’s health and expand the services she provides through ongoing education and custom compounding.
Congratulations, Melanie, on this well-deserved honour. Thank you for the care, leadership, and commitment you continue to bring to Hammonds Plains–Lucasville and beyond.
