Today, on Davis Day, we remember and honour the miners who lost their lives, suffered injuries and fought tirelessly for safer working conditions in Canada’s mining industry. This day stands as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by workers and the importance of protecting the health, safety and rights of those who labour in demanding and often dangerous conditions.
We also recognize the generations of miners whose hard work helped build communities and industries across our country. Their contributions will never be forgotten. Today, we pause to reflect and pay tribute to their legacy.
