Today, on World Pharmacists Day, I want to recognize and sincerely thank the pharmacists who play such an important role in the health and well-being of Nova Scotians.
Pharmacists are often one of the most accessible health-care professionals in our communities. Every day, they provide trusted advice, answer questions, help people manage their medications, and support patients and families through all stages of their health-care journey.
We recognize the knowledge, expertise, and dedication pharmacists bring to our health-care system. That is why we are creating more opportunities for pharmacists to use their skills to provide care, including expanding pharmacy primary care clinics and increasing the scope of practice for pharmacy professionals.
To pharmacists across Nova Scotia: thank you for the care you provide, the relationships you build with your patients, and the countless ways you support our communities. Your work matters, and today is a great opportunity to recognize the tremendous contribution you make to our health-care system.
